The variety of received comments from international visitors when visiting South Africa regarding our roads, are that they are simply superb! Sometimes well marked and other well...truly African. African Chapter have thus simplified these matters to ensure that your journey remains simply sensational!

Currently the road agency is upgrading most of the national highway (N1/N3) and therefore causing extra delays on the major routes, so extra time should be included in your itineraries to get around during this time.

With the development of our transportation systems in South Africa, areas affected will bear beneficial outcomes at the end of the Gautrain Construction due to alleviate the grid locked road systems currently experienced in busy areas.

As an African Chapter traveller we limit your driving in areas you are not familiar with and will advise that travellers less familiar with the ways of the roads contact us for transfers, guided tours or alternatively chauffer drives.

For international visitors to South Africa we wouldn’t suggest hiring a car for your time in Joburg as there are many operations available which can transport you to your interested destination during your South African Vacation, as well as certain hotels offering complimentary shuttle services to main areas in the vicinity. Should you be visiting Gauteng for a longer period of time or traveling here on business then hiring a car, battling the traffic *dependant on your origin that is* and taking a simple drive out of the city to explore the countryside is a definite must!

Obviously Crime is a factor when researching your trip to South Africa, again African Chapter ensure that your safety is priority, and keeping abreast of movements in criminal activities and circles through a variety of information centres specialising in this area. The commitment of a number of individuals forming crime fighting communities within the countries locale.

Should you fear that our statements here are less than satisfying please request our crime portfolio article which provides useful information when protecting yours against possible victimisation.

To find out more information on mentioned activities on offer in and around Gauteng, contact our helpful African Chapter Team for personalised service. Book your adventure activities now.
