You will be met by your personal animals, arts and ancestors tour guide at your confirmed pick up point in Johannesburg, Gauteng province, South Africa. Should you be travelling in from provinces or countries outside of Gauteng please enquire about our flight and transfer arrangement available.
Your educational journey commences with a transfer to the Cradle of Humankind with our first stop at the world class Maropeng museum. You too will have the opportunity to discover mankind’s roots at this first of its kind museum, accompanied by informative visuals and conversations with your expert guide, facilitating dialogue around the ancestral aspects of hominid existence. We have found that Maropeng is a must for First Time experiences of this nature and not recommended for the well versed individuals in the subject of paleo-anthropology.
Our next educational stop is the Sterkfontein Caves where we will descend into the depths of the earth, further learning about the formations of breccia, the fossil finds in this proclaimed world heritage site and explore what we have learnt from our quick peak at the museum on the premises. Embarking on your journey through the ancient times of human life, next an introductory stroll to the entrance of the caves provides you with some background on the developments of our planet and the region you are about to explore "in-depth"!
The highlight of our specialised Ancestors tours is an exclusive visit to a local fossil site and participation in a dig on a private concession, discussing your finds and those who have been discovered before you. Here a scrumptious food platter is served in true bushveld picnic style, surrounded by the tranquil spaces, lush grasslands and gorgeous african trees, also to add to the excitement on your learning adventure the discussions of amazing finds and characteristical personalities of the paleo-anthropological world.
We end our afternoon at a local Cultural Village, where the various tribes await in welcoming you with traditional african cultures, traditions, villages and their way of life, your opportunity of experiencing their independent and interesting lifestyles has arrived. Following this atmospheric trail through time, you are afforded the delicious african cuisine served in true authentic african style after the entertaining and instructive dancing performances have created an energetic atmosphere. Various options from commercial products where you form part of a larger group offering a more variable selection of African cuisine, to the well merged options of French/African cuisine coupling 5 wines over a 5 course meal in private 5 star establishments. Dietary requirements and personal tastes and styles will dictate which option would suit your group best.
