Bush Babies Monkey Sanctuary has been opened by The Elephant Sanctuary, right next door in Hartbeespoort. A Free-living monkeys in a natural and wild environment. Walk through natural indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways and experience a variety of exotic monkeys in an exquisite natural environment. 

The Sanctuary takes in rescued monkeys that have been raised as pets or have been bred or imported for the pet trade. All monkeys at Bush Babies have been donated or have been rescued. Some as pets by private individuals and given to the Sanctuary in order to secure a better life. Monkeys require specific diets and group enrichment as they are social animals.

Monkeys are rehabilitated and free released into a wild forest graced with waterfalls and sparkling mountain springs. Monkeys do not make good pets. Support the placing of monkeys in recognized Sanctuaries. The sanctuaries mission is to take in rescued primates that have been kept as pets and then to relocate them to an environment that is natural to them and where they can lead normal, happy and productive lives. Trained guides lead visitors to a stunning gorge through the mountan for this unique eco-tourism facility thaat boasts a relatively new concept of free-roaming monkeys.

Tours are structured and guided. Excellent family, corporate or educational outing.

Open 7 days a week. First tour 08h30, last tour starts at 16h00.

Updates in 2010 bringing many announcements of significance: 

• The opening of a new 200-seat Eco-Conference Centre in April
• The introduction of more primates to the park
• New boardwalks to allow for even more primte viewing.
