An affordable african getaway! This Lodge is located just 4 km upstream from Victoria Falls, situated just opposite Siloka Island and with a clear view of the spray from the Falls, seen from the Zambian side.

The resort is designed to cater for all travellers who wish to experience the mighty Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and the many activities on offer in the area without great expense - it`s ideal for the adventurous and young at heart. This resort is family friendly and caters for all ages.

This resort complex has 16 standard twin chalets, six units of which overlook the river. There are also three Executive rooms and four Family rooms. There is a central dining complex with stunning views both up and down river. A raised wooden deck stretches our over the river with a unique plunge pool, an open bar and restaurant area, reception and a merchandising shop.

The key attraction of the area is obviously the mighty Zambezi. Getting onto the river is a must and we have therefore included this awesome experience on a sunset cruise on the river.

Further activities available include game drives through Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, white water rafting, river boarding, jet boating, abseiling, gorge swings, kayaking, canoeing, horse trails, elephant back rides and fishing. Also on offer is bungee jumping, helicopter and micro light flips over the falls, tours of the Falls, Chief Makuni Village tour, sunset or breakfast river cruises and a tour of Livingstone, which includes the Livingstone and Railway Museums and the Curio/Craft markets. So no matter what your interests are there is an outing for everyone.

SA Residents do not require a visa for entry into Zambia or Zimbabwe (should you wish to take a tour of the falls). These countries are malaria areas, please take the neccessary precautions.


The World Health Organisation (WHO) has revised the Yellow Fever vaccination recommendations for Africa. The South African Department of Health has subsequently issued a statement that all travellers from South Africa to Zambia and travellers from Zambia to South Africa will now require proof of yellow fever vaccination. Previously, this was not required.
All in-transit passengers between the two destinations, irrespective of the time period in transit, will also require proof of yellow fever vaccination.

Farewell Mama Africa - Miriam Makeba...


Miriam Makeba, Africa`s most celebrated singer, and the first black African woman to win a Grammy Award, has died. Makeba`s business affairs manager Graham Gilfillan confirmed yesterday morning that the legendary singer died of a heart attack in the early hours of yesterday morning near the southern Italian town of Caserta after a performance. According to Gilfillan, Makeba was with her grandson who called him yesterday morning to inform him of the singer`s death. Makeba, 76, died overnight after taking part in a concert for Roberto Saviano, a writer threatened with death by the Mafia, the Ansa news agency said.
