A comfortable 4 hour drive from Johannesburg and even less from Pretoria is where you will find this family lodge located near the town of Ohrigstad in the Mpumalanga Province.
Ideally situated on the panorama route for those who wish to explore the lowveld and discover some of the hidden treasures including,The Voortrekker Graveyard, God`s Window, Pilgrim`s Rest, Three Rondawels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, The Pinnacle, Robbers Pass, Mac Mac Pools, Bridal Falls, Lisbon Falls to name only a few.
The en-suite standard chalets have private verandahs providing breathtaking views of this pristine private reserve, 14 of these units have inter-leading doors transforming into seven family units. All chalets have tea and coffee making facilities, allowing you that early morning cup of coffee out on the verandah as you watch the sun rise over this bushveld paradise.
The 8000 hectares of this bushveld paradise abounds with plains, hills and mountains accommodating diverse habitats of plant, animal and birdlife. Morning and afternoon game drives provide ample opportunities for nature lovers, birdwatchers and photographers alike. Other species seen on the reserve include Rhino, Buffalo,Giraffe, Zebra, Ostrich, Caracal, Serval and Brown Hyena and variety of buck as well as many other species of nocturnal animals.
The Lodge also has a Sable breeding project and this allows guests the opportunity to view this magnificent antelope from up close. There are an estimated 250 species of birdlife found on the Reserve, and on a good day, one could even witness the ever Graceful Secretary Bird stalking its prey in the grass.
Activities like a Golf driving range for adults, TV and games room for the kids and a large outdoor activity gym is available, or enjoy a round or two of Putt-Putt with the family before dinner, and for the health conscious work up a sweat in our cozy gym or cool down at the pool.
