Shamwari Game Reserve , the malaria free, private game reserve situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, has received numerous international awards, including the World`s Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve for many consecutive years.It is situated in the verdant bush along the Bushmans River, halfway between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, a pleasant drive from Cape Town, forming a natural extension to the famous Garden Route.
Tented luxury and riverine privacy. "By-ye-ti", the welcoming salutation you will receive on your arrival at this splendid stone walled and thatch roofed lodge. Absorb the pulse of the African bush from the viewing deck, framed by riverine trees and overlooking river pools where antelope venture a twilight drink and crowned eagles glide on the darkening sky.
A superb five star Bush Camp offering the nature lover a little piece of heaven accommodated in one of Bayethe`s 9 thatched roof and canvas tents, all with your own private decks and heated plunge pools, air-conditioning and electric blankets for those cold evenings. Mini-bar stocked with beverages to keep the thirst at bay as well as some nibbly bits for those late night snacks. A private safe in each room as well as Tea and coffee making facilities for your enjoyment during your stay at Bayethe. Each tent also boasts their own indoor or outdoor shower for those a little more adventurous.
The main areas of the lodge provides for both indoor or outdoor dining or opt for supper in the boma, should the weather not be conducive for an outdoor meal, enjoy the fireplace in the lounge and indoor dining room with superb meals at times suitable to your pace. A Curio Shop offers souvenirs for travellers wishing to purchase that little something for your loved ones at home.
While sitting next to the boma fire, allow its crackling, a nightjar and the distant howl of a jackal to serenade you into relaxation. Bayethe Lodge offers the ultimate in luxury, tented accommodation. Each of the tents are nestled along the riverbed, camouflaged under trees allowing ample privacy and unsurpassed comforts. Early morning and evening game viewing drives in open land rovers as well as guided nature walks and bird watching are all part of this magnificent experience.

Luxury TENT: October 2011 to December 2012 - R4 750 pp
All rates are quoted per person sharing per night. Single supplement is 50% surcharge.
Child rates are applicable whether children share a room with adults or not
inclusive of meals, non alcoholic beverages, activities (age dependant) and the “Kids on
Safari” program.
0 – 3 Year old are accommodated at no additional cost. May share with adults, depending on the availability of cots and/or rooms with a sleeper couch. Are not permitted on game drives.
4 – 11 Year old are accommodated at 50% (half) of the adult sharing rate. May share with adults, epending on the availability of rooms with a sleeper couch. Are permitted on game drives.
