Jock Safari Lodge is one of the very first privately owned camps situated in the world famous Kruger National Park, with exclusive traversing rights in what is regarded as the best Big Five game viewing area in the Kruger National Park.

Before the turn of the century, the lure of gold brought men from all corners of the world to Southern Africa. Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, author of the animal classic, Jock of the bushveld was one of these. They passed through some of Africa`s most scenic untamed wilderness. It is in this area that Jock Safari Lodge is based with our southern boundary being the old wagon route from Delgoa Bay into the gold fields of the interior. Today the wilderness experience we offer is unchanged from these early times. It is in an area noted for its diversity in game, particularly the BIG FIVE.

Jock Safari Lodge incorporates the romance and elegance of the past colonial era, and reflects in its unique style the indigenous Zulu and Swazi cultures. This luxurious lodge is situated in the southern area of the KNP at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers, half way between Skukuza and Malelane airports. It is approximately 35 km to both airports with only 3km of dirt road. Magnificent trees and an abundance of bird life surround the Lodge. From here our two track roads take you into 6000 ha of exclusive traversing in the first private concession set in over 2 million hectares of KNP. . Friendly and professional staff will cater for all guests requirements from specialised game drives or game walks - with every sound, scent, footprint or broken blade of grass, as sign waiting to be interpreted and understood.

The lodge is easily accessible by road, just over 5 hours drive from Johannesburg, or 1 hour either Skukuza or Malelane airports.

Jock is located in a malaria area, but incidents are very low. Guests are advised to take precaution though.

Your expectations of comfort and quality will be exceeded at Jock Safari Lodge. 12 Luxury air conditioned suites offer guests the unique opportunity to experience the gracious style of old world elegance surrounded by unspoilt wilderness.

Little Jock, the newest addition overlooking the banks of the Biyamiti River and situated one kilometre from Main Camp and offers sweeping views over the unspoiled Kruger Park Bushveld. Three luxurious suites offer all the comforts and amenities one can expect from a 5-star private lodge. Guests can relax in the comfort of the central lounge designed with large bay windows and enjoy both al fresco and indoor dining facilities, while your chef conjures up traditional dishes inspired by the natural surrounds.Your personal game ranger takes care of all your game drives and bush encounters. Whilst not on game drives you can relax next to the scenic pool soaking up the sun watching the wild animals frequent the surrounding bush.Little Jock can either be booked as a private safari camp for a small group or family, or for individuals. With only 3 suites this lodge ensures personal service remains a high priority.Guests at Little Jock are encouraged to spoil themselves by making use of the extensive Spa treatments available at Main Camp, a mere 5 minutes away.

Jock Main Lodge, each suite has a private Sala (outdoor lounge) that overlooks the river. The romantic bathrooms and outdoor showers share the same river view and sightings of animals, including the big five can be seen from the comfort & privacy of your own room. Each suite has a King size bed surrounded by walk-in mosquito netting, a small lounge and twin basin bathroom. Your private terrace has its own plunge pool and a wooden walkway to a lapa overlooking the riverbed.

At Jock, African Cuisine is offered which incorporates an abundance accummulated on the routes followed by Sir Percy Fitzpatrick.The Chef and his dedicated team conjure up dishes inspired by this unique location as well as all the influences that have passed through it at one time or another. From the primal flavours of wild game and local herbs picked from the surrounding bushveld ,to the spicy tastes of visiting Arab traders and international dishes intoduced by European gold miners, guests can take their taste buds on a true African Safari!

Game drives in open landrovers, with our professional team of game rangers, offer guests the thrill of close encounters with Africa`s Big 5. Walking safaris , Birding safaris and guided Historical tours will take you along the paths of legend and mystery. Interpret the signs, sounds and scents of wild animals in this unspoilt wilderness.

Rock art and star gazing is a must see at Jock Safari Lodge.

Pilgrim`s Rest, named after the quaint historical mining town featured so prominently in "Jock of the Bushveld" and still in existence today, was a place to rest, rejuvenate and restock. So too is the Spa, destined to become a jewel in the Mantis Spa Collection.

Overlooking the haven of a serenity garden, it is fully equipped with therapy and relaxation rooms, hydrotherapy bath, steam room and sauna. Therapies are also available in the relaxed atmosphere of one`s own room.At "Pilgrim`s Rest" the need for both physical and psychological well-being is understood. Each treatment has been developed to revive, rejuvenate and restore the skin together with rebalancing mind, body and spirit. Rates

Main Camp and Little Jock

Main Jock: 1October 2011 to 31 December 2012 - R4 500 per person sharing

Little Jock:  1OOctober 2011 to 31 December 2012 - R4250 per person sharing 

50% single supplement applies. Discount available for long stays. Domestic Specials available on request, subject to availability.

Child rates are applicable whether children share a room with adults or not. Rate is inclusive of meals, non alcoholic beverages, activities (age dependant) and the “Kids on Safari” program

· 0 – 3 Year old are accommodated at no additional cost & may share with adults, depending on the availability of cots and/or rooms with a sleeper couch. Not permitted on game drives

· 4 – 11 Year old, are accommodated at 50% (half) of the adult sharing rate. May share with adults, depending on the availability of rooms with an sleeper couch. Are permitted on game drives
