Full Description

Singita Lebombo Lodge in Sabi Sands at the south-east of the Kruger National Park offers one of the most dramatic views in Africa, looking out over a vast open grassland. Your timber and glass loft, poised like eagles` nests on stilts at the top of basalt cliffs, blends almost invisibly into the landscape allowing you to simply experience your African lion safari. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls look out over stunningly beautiful grass plains, full of an amazing concentration of grazing and hunting wildlife!

With abundant water, the area is host to hundreds of species of mammals, reptiles, birds and insects, and the incredible view from Lebombo Lodge`s unique eyries ensures that you can easily see most of the game. The slatted wooden roofs allow the evocative scents of Africa and the shifting light through as you experience the finest bush cuisine and enjoy the view over the savannah and the N`wanetsi and Sweni rivers. Walkways follow the contours of the cliff top and lead you past graceful euphorbia from one wood-and-glass viewing loft to another.

Lebombo Lodge also offers a bar and open Boma, and sophisticated facilities that include a gym, a library with a wide range of books on African fauna and flora and even internet facilities - in the middle of the bush! - a wine cellar, a swimming pool, and the cherry on top - an African Spa with a comprehensive range of personal treatments and massages. This is the ideal bush resort for the international traveller - fantastic game viewing including the Big 5, luxury and relaxation all combined with the amenities of internet, satellite TV and fax facilities.

At Singita Lebombo Village you will learn some of the facts about Africa, and your patronage will help alleviate poverty in Africa. The trading store sells traditional African artwork, the wine boutique offers the finest vintages, and you can also buy safari clothing, go on a surfin` safari when you buy African music CDs, learn something of the history of Africa when you buy local artefacts, jewellery and sculpture and simply experience South Africa as all safari club international travellers love to do.

Two open Land Rover safaris a day - at dawn and late afternoon / evening - are personally guided by an experienced tracker and game ranger, who will show you the finest game viewing in Africa, even some endangered animals, and explain the ecological significance of what you see and experience. You may also choose to road-test your safari gear and go on guided luxury walking safaris, bringing you even closer to the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush!

A sumptuous breakfast is served upon your return from the dawn game drive - you will enjoy it as you have never enjoyed breakfast before! During the day, you will luxuriate in a spa treatment, do your game viewing from the wood-and-glass eyries of Lebombo Lodge, swim under the African sun, or maybe go on a tour o Singita Lebombo Village. In the late afternoon is the day`s second game drive, and after seeing lion kills by spotlight or hyenas` eyes reflecting from the darkness, you will return to the travel lodge for a leisurely evening chatting over drinks in the Boma and enjoy a superbly cooked meal under the stars of an African night.
