Full Description

This luxury bushveld breakaway is situated in the malaria free Pilansberg National Park in the North West Province, 33 km from Sun City. The landscape is an alluring combination of rolling hills, tumbled mountains, valleys, grassland plains and tamboti forests. Game sightings include a variety of predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah and a great opportunity to see herds of elephant and buffalo and even sometimes seen at close range! Retreat to this luxury 4 star game lodge built between a Tamboti forest, overlooking a busy waterhole which is a hive of bird and animal activity and a playground for the elephant.

Black Rhino Private Game Reserve is incorporated in the western side of the ‘Malaria Free’ Pilanesberg National Park. A ‘Traversing Agreement’ between Pilanesberg National Park & Black Rhino Private Game Reserve, allows us the priviledge of an hours scenic drive through an unexplored valley before reaching the 200km road network of the Pilanesberg National Park, with its excellent reputation of great game sightings. Antelope such as sable, kudu and eland roam the bush freely and are not shy, so be on the look out for them, along with some superb bird viewing in this area.

The Lodge is luxurious built between a Tamboti forest with views over the waterhole which attracts much game in coming down to kwench their thirst. On many occasions, the stillness of the night is broken by the roaring of lions, and the franklins sing the morning wake up call. Once, you are awakened with a hot cup of coffee, your host ranger will take you out on an exceptional game drive through the reserve.

The luxury and comfortable suites are very private and equipped with a mini bar, air conditioner, hot beverage unit and television. The patio doors open out into the bush, and if you look out quietly, you may even see the herds of impala or a lone elephant walking by. The designer bathrooms open out into your own private outside shower, and are perfect to cool down on a hot day.

A top class chef caters for all your exquisite meals in an atmospheric restaurant. Both the bar and the restaurant open out onto the viewing deck, so you are always close to nature.

At Black Rhino lodge you can expect a warm and friendly welcome, luxury & private accommodation, exceptionally delicious food, exciting game drives educational game walks, and great for bird enthusiasts all just 2 hours from Gauteng!
