Adding to its growing list of international accolades, Cape Town`s Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa has been voted the Top Hotel Spa in Africa and the Middle East in the Travel + Leisure 2012 World`s Best Awards. The hotel was also ranked in the Top 100 Hotels overall, and awarded the third place on the list of Top City Hotels in Africa and the Middle East.

Survey results were based on ratings by the readers of Travel + Leisure in the following categories: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value. Winners will be honoured at an awards ceremony in New York on 19 July, and the results will be published in the August issue of Travel + Leisure magazine.

"It`s a wonderful reward after a major investment not only in terms of the renovations that now provide excellent surroundings to our guests, but also in terms of selecting and training the therapists that provide professional services that contribute even more to the unique location of the Twelve Apostles," says Horst Frehse, general manager of The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa.

Focussing on holistic principles the Spa combines ancient wisdom with modern technology, and its` range of Africa products are inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of all three Red Carnation Hotel Collection properties in South Africa, namely The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat and The Oyster Box.
