I want to thank you so much for all your trouble and everything. My mom had an absolute blast! The balloon ride was amazing and apparently the wind direction was perfect. She really had the time of her life. The rest of the organizing went great! We joined her as she lifted off and everything ran smooth. The park was amazing and we all had a lovely time. My mom said it was truly one of the best days of her life.
I'll send you a photo or 2 when i get them, so you can see the fun we had.

Once again thank you for everything you did. You were a great help, I dont think we could have asked for better service or a better day.

They cannot stop talking about this and honestly, they are driving me crazy of how wonderful it was, of how great is was… (I think it is only the jealousy in me getting annoyed)!!! Hi Erica,
My vakansie is verby en ek het dit terdee geniet.Die hoogte punt was die lug ballon. Dit was n geweldige verrassing vir my vrou gewees. Dit was n belewenis. Dit was die oggend van die 31ste Jan baie mistig toe ons gestyg het. Ons het bo die mis uitgestuig en kan jou nie beskryf die stilte wat ons ondervind het nie. Ek sal my vriende aanbeveel om die ballon te bespreek. Hulle is baie goed. Ek kan minder goed praat vanTala Game reserve. Dit was baie duur vir wat ons ontvang het en het nie aan my verwagting voldoen nie. Die wild parke wat ek al by was was van baie goeie standarde.Die wild park self het gewelig baie wild en dit het weer opgemaak vir die akkomadasie.
Graag wil ek jou in besonder komplimenteer vir seep glade reelings en jou aanhoudende terugvoering. The African Charter is "great" en ek sal weer van julle dienste gebruik maak.

Hi Erica and thanks for the follow up. Everything was wonderful. Liese picked me on as scheduled and we had a wonderful drive to and fro; she is a wealth of information and so fun to travel with. The Lodge was terrific as well. Great food, attentive staff and all came off as planned. It was truly magnificent and next time I need to get away from town, you will be the first I call to help me plan.

Hi Erica,

It was a most memorable experience.

Amanzingwe Lodge was marvellous. We enjoyed the dinner that night.
We wished that we could have stayed there longer.
However, it is 20min from the Airfield, so we left the lodge at 4:30am - and the guard
needed to be woken up to open the gate. This was an irritation as we were aiming to be at
the airfield by 5:00am.

Our treatment at the balloon flight was also excellent. We just wished that our companion flyers
were English speaking (or willing to speak English), which would have made the whole experience more fun.

Nevertheless, the whole organisation was impressive - we would like to try flying again sometime !

Goodmorning Erica

Well we are back safe and sound in New Zealand, and nice to be home, although I dont know about back at work?

I just wanted to let you have coments on our experience.

First of all, thank you for all you did, Victoria Falls was amazing and far more exciting and spectacular than we imagined. We were a little frazzled when we got there, it was very hot and crossing the two borders was a real experience, not necessarily a pleasant one in the heat and unfamiliar processes that we had to do. No one really took any notice of our passports just stamped them and took the money!!!

However we arrived at the Kingdom Hotel and met by the very lovely Sandrah from Ambula Tours, with hotel flannels and a nice cool orange juice, we could have hugged her!!!

The Kingdom Hotel was amazing and the staff just delightful. First night was the Zambesi River cruise, a great experience.

Up at 4.45am the next morning to walk with the lions - fantastic with a lovekly breakfast afterwards, we have some amazing photos.

A bit of a rest the the Helicopter Flight - wow, then the Rainforest walk which only 7 originally booked on but the whole 13 ended up going - it is definately a must. It was exhilirating, even though we had poncho's supplied by Sandrah we got soaked. We all decided to appreciate the Falls you need to do the Helicopter, Walk and Zambesi River Cruise. It was simply amazing and will stay wityh us forever.

We topped off the day and trip with The Boma, a really great evening and highly recommended.

As you can see a great time was had by all, the trip back across the borders was a little less stressful.

The wedding went well, Kruger Park fantastic so all in all a wonderful trip.

Hi Erica,

Thanks for the follow up. I tried to give you a call late Wednesday afternoon but probably just missed you guys in the office. Everything went perfect thanks. The transfers we’re particularly smoothly – please pass on my thanks and appreciation to Roger and particularly Gordon who was particularly punctual and professional.

The Butcher Shop was also a great hit (I’d off course also never complain when getting the best steak and red wine that’s available in SA). As mentioned, the guys had supper at Moyo’s (Zoo Lake) the previous evening and everyone said that although the atmosphere was great, the food didn’t compare.

Thanks for the help in making it an extremely successful trip!

Many thanks for your follow up. The Hot Air Balloon trip was absolutely wonderful, and thoroughly enjoyed by my Dad and Sue. As the balloon lifted off into the air, the most spectacular red sun rose out of the ground, which was totally awesome. They were served champagne on landing in a mango orchard. On arrival for breakfast at Chestnut Lodge they were greeted with more champagne and sparklers, and the staff singing Happy Birthday to my Dad. They were thrilled to receive their certificates as well! My Dad said that at 80, one’s had a lot of birthdays, and that this one was the most fantastic. Thank you so much for all your efforts, which are sincerely appreciated.

Thank you very very much for your assistance and all the effort you put into making arrangements. The weekend was really more than what I had anticipated. My boyfriend was speechless for most of it. The venue was everything a busy couple needs and deserves away from JHB. It was a clean, peaceful and friendly place from the minute we arrived right till the end. The staff are exceptional and I liked the fact that they were not confined to wearing uniform, being too formal and at arms length with guests. They were always available and ready to assist with anything.

Although it was schedule to be on Saturday morning, the weather was bad and still rainy so we could only fly the Sunday. I prayed hard, with all my fingers and toes crossed that it didn’t rain!!! The air balloon experience sure took our love and relationship to greater heights (literally). Feeling on top of the world (excuse the pun), We were both awed and left staring at each other in disbelief. My boyfriend still calls me every hour to say thanks for the fabulous and memorable gift.

You really helped a lot in making this happen,

The staff were exceptional, from the second we drove through the gate. Our guide, Sam, was fantastic – with so much knowledge and information to share. "Hi Julie, Thanks for calling and we are safely back after a faultless SAA flight, but actually are taking a few days to recover. It was a bit more tiring than I had imagined being the organiser of a trip as, although it was not a formal trip, somehow people looked to me for guidance on most things and I became the informal tour leader. So I did not relax quite as much as on a normal holiday. It's not always easy with 10 people in tow!! Nevertheless it was a great holiday and the weather was good. Also your travel bookings worked perfectly, congrats, and we had no problems at all. The Kruger day drive was wonderful, Piet a very good guide and the animals also did a good job. We saw a lot including 4 of the big 5, only Leopard staying hidden. The hotel in Sandton was a very lucky choice as it was right opposite Mandela square, so everyone could walk to the centre to shop and chill out. So all in all we did a good job, the trip worked well and your arrangements were faultless - well done. "

“Hello family, good friends and Scupper Cat. I can put off this travel log no longer. We arrived in Cape Town Feb. 5th and it took us four days to get over the jet-lag. I hve never slept so much. We stayed in Bantry Bay just under Signal Mtn and Signal Hill. Many hotels and high rises. It is just up the road from Camps Bay where they have a terrific Beach that is also very crowed. We drove the Chapmans Peak road to the end of the Cape highest point rises 1942 ft. and the road drops 525 ft. to the swirling seas below and the view of Hout Bay. We did this a few times to get to the Indian Ocean side of the Cape for Golf at Cloveley and Steenberg golf courses, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point lighthouse. Saw Penguins at Simon Town. We were not sure who was watching who. One was hatching right alongside of the pathway and paid us no attention. The other animals we've seen so far were Eland and Ostritch at Cape Point were we were to see Babboons but didn't until our trip to the Garden Route were they stopped the traffic. Golfed with the beautiful little Springboks at Atlantic Beach north of Cape Town across from Robben Island were Nelson Mandela was interened. It served as a penal colony from the 17th century until 1991. Today it is an ecological and heritage site. The view of Table Mtn from North of the city is spectacular especially with the tablecloth spilling over it. We were watching the kite boarders( a very colourfulscene) when all of a sudden they all came back to the beach. A helicopter had spotted a shark and advised them. We didn't spend much time in the city itself (too busy) but the buildings are very interesting. There is a Malay (people who came over from Sri Lanka),Township called Bo-Kaap. It is very colourful and there food is incredible. The Architecture around the Cape and the winelands is mainly Georgian Cape. Curly kew stuff around the gables. Mike, you know that great picture in your book of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront? We went there a couple of times. It reminds me of Steveston waterfron Gayle on a much larger scale but the same atmosphere. Lotsa of restaurants and a large shopping centre. We drove on to the Cape Wineland last week and stayed at a very interesting Farm called Spiers. They have a Cheetah outreach station there so got to see the beautifull spotted cats. Whooo Scups, you wouldn't want to tangle with them. They have very long powerful legs and can reach 60 miles an hour in 2 seconds . We golfed at Erinvale,which is surronded by the Helderburg and Hottentots with a view out to False Bay. Everyday the Hots have clouds spilling over them. It was hard to concentrate on golf(but isn't it always so)? Just like Shawl Bay Peggy. In the Stellenbosch/Paarl Valley you wouldn't go thirsty. There is a winery every mile or so. The vineyards go up the sides of mountains and down. Wine and food is dirt-cheap here. We have paid $3.00 for two Panninis and a very good btl of plonk is $10. We have had wonderful dinners for $20. The housing prices for us would be about the same as Courtenay but it is wonderful for the Europeans. They get about 100rand to the pound. We have met some wonderful Africans. They smile a lot and when I mentioned that, they said it helps get through the day. Some of them live in horrible situations, little tin and wood shacks not bigger than our guest bedroom. Those that are fortunate to work, get up very early and are bussed in from the townships. There is one company that caters to them, called the Pit-Stop. We pay to have our car watched(not really necessary), When we got back to the car one fellow said, 'it was only touched by an angel'. There are quite a few coming from the Eastern cape 'cuz it's better grazin here.We are now in Hermanus, on our way along the Garden route. This is a little seaside town with 10thousand whites and 40thos blacks. Except for the summer months when the Brits come and the white numbers swell.Have a great holiday Chip and Donna and Bas and Paud. we are off to george tomorrow for 4 nites of 5 star comfort and 5 great golf course including the links at fancourt where they held the presidents cup in 2003. see you soon.”
